First Short 001 / Greek mythology
Typhon — the
monster Zeus feared.
Born of Gaia’s revenge, Typhon towered above mountains with a hundred serpent heads and defeated Zeus by cutting the sinews from his hands and feet. Hermes and Aegipan restored Zeus, who returned with thunder and buried the monster beneath Mount Etna. In the myth, the volcano’s eruptions are Typhon’s buried fire.
